Triple Card Blitz

Overview of 3 Card Blitz:

3 Card Blitz presents a unique gaming experience, drawing comparisons to Money Suit 31 while incorporating elements from established casino games like Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em. The gameplay revolves around a fold or raise structure akin to Three Card Poker, coupled with a Blind bet reminiscent of Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em.

In essence, players aim to achieve a total point value in any single suit greater than the corresponding total in the dealer’s hand.

My introduction to 3 Card Blitz dates back to January 2019 when it was mentioned in a forum, highlighting its presence at Foxwoods. Subsequently, in May 2019, reports emerged of another placement at the SLS in Las Vegas.

Game Rules:

  1. Deck Composition: A standard 52-card deck is utilized, with cards ranked as follows: Aces = 11 points, Face cards = 10 points, and 2 – 10 = Pip value.
  2. Initial Bets: Players commence by placing equal bets on the Ante and Blind. Additionally, players have the option to place Flush Bonus and Progressive side bets.
  3. Card Distribution: Both the player and dealer receive seven cards each.
  4. Point Identification: Players aim to identify the greatest number of points within any single suit, utilizing three cards or fewer. The maximum achievable points is 31. In case of multiple ways to reach 31, players are encouraged to form a suited A-K-Q, termed a Royal Blitz.
  5. Player Actions: After reviewing their cards, players must choose to either raise or fold. Folding results in the loss of Ante and Blind bets, while any side bets remain active. Raising requires a Play bet equal to the Ante wager.
  6. Dealer’s Play: The dealer reveals their cards and also aims to play the highest point value within any single suit using three cards or fewer.
  7. Outcome Determination:
    • If the dealer has more points, the Ante, Blind, and Play bets are lost.
    • In the event of a tie, all Ante, Blind, and Play bets push.
    • If the player has more points, the Ante and Play bets pay even money, and the Blind bet is paid according to the provided pay table.
  8. Flush Bonus: This side bet pays out based on the most cards in any single suit within the player’s hand.
  9. Progressive Side Bets: At present, there are two known progressive side bets. Further analysis of their rules is deferred for future examination.

Strategy:

To enhance your chances in 3 Card Blitz, prioritize forming a Royal Blitz (A-K-Q of the same suit) when possible. Consider folding if unable to assemble a strong hand, especially if the dealer’s revealed cards suggest a higher point total. Carefully assess the Flush Bonus and Progressive side bets to optimize your betting strategy.

Analysis:

Analyze your hand meticulously to determine the optimal play—whether to raise or fold—based on the points accumulated and the potential for improving your hand. Evaluate the dealer’s visible cards to gauge the likelihood of their beating your hand. Assess the potential payout and risk associated with side bets, taking into account their impact on your overall strategy and potential winnings.
